ESCOLA PONTE PARA PRETXS

ESCOLA DE ATIVISMO AMBIENTAL

COLETIVO NEGRO NAS ESCOLAS

Ponte para Pretxs School provides education and training courses to integrate poor black and indigenous young people who need to be trained and thus integrate into the job market.

The School of Environmental Activism aims to train leaders of poor communities in Brazil in order to combat environmental racism, bringing training with ESG themes and bringing education and improvements to these communities.

the black collective in schools promotes the formation of leaders within public schools in brazil in order to combat racism and promote the teaching of the history of afro-brazilian culture

Escola da Ponte para Pretxs

We know that in Brazil the reality of young black and indigenous people is increasingly difficult to integrate into the job market, so we offer these young people the flexibility to study online with flexible timetables and direct them towards a path of more hope and progress. Within our courses we offer everything from language and technology courses to career guidance courses, providing the necessary support and accompaniment for these young people to integrate into the job market. We also have partner companies where we connect vacancies for our young students from the Ponte para Pretxs School, directing them directly to vacancies in companies where they can apply what they have learned at the Ponte para Pretxs School.

The project aims to select 25 black people, including 12 fellows and 13 listeners, distributed between the cities of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Salvador.

Those selected will receive a scholarship of US$1,300 to take part in the project, where they will learn, through face-to-face and online classes, about Bitcoin, English, social engagement for communities, anti-racist education, mediation practice and data analysis (optional).

I work in a corporate environment where most people have had access to English language learning. Escola da Ponte Para Pretxs is helping me to feel included, and also giving me hope that I will have better chances in my career.

Beatriz da Silva Melo

It has helped me a lot to develop my career as a researcher/master's student, because basically all the material I read and produce is or has to be in English. And I've already noticed some positive differences in my English.

OUR STUDENTS

what they say:

The opportunity to take this course has been a dream, if it wasn't for the school I wouldn't be taking English right now due to lack of funds (black reality in the suburbs, you know), I would have had to postpone this dream, the fact that it's online also helps me a lot in my routine so it's not a burden to do this course + work + college + social life and family, it's fitting in well, and the teacher Thais Veiga has a simple method to understand so I feel that yes I can become fluent one day, understand my favorite songs and series and more.

Joyce Ellen Assunção

I feel more confident and willing to progress in English. The teacher is excellent and her methodology/pronunciation is wonderful. Unfortunately I only have Saturday to study (if I could do the whole week, I would), but I'm making the most of it.

Liliane Cristina da Costa

I've always had a huge block with learning new languages for a number of reasons, especially access. For the areas in which I work, English is fundamental. Only at the Black Bridge School was I able to find a welcoming space and the peace of mind to recognize myself and free myself to learn.
